A Song From: “Riders of the Sun”
This Video was shot in Switzerland directed by the incredibly talented Mike Vazquez as usual. The video takes place in several locations and captures the mood and atmosphere of the song perfectly. Enjoy…
The connected generation
It might be daunting at the beginning but the feeling of loneliness and worthlessness is quite common, specially in this generation since we have become so “connected” thanks to the internet when in reality we are more separated than ever before because we have forgotten have to really interact with each other.
Lately a have being thinking a lot about the idea that it is quite difficult to engage in a meaningful conversation with almost everyone now that the attention spans of people have drop to a dramatic level of almost little to non existent.
But this is Bardon’s Blog isn’t it supposed to be related to music?
You are completely right my friend, and the reason why I am bringing the topic to the table is because music now a days is becoming simpler and formulaic. Don’t get me wrong there are some great pop acts in the likes of the Weekend, Daft Punk, Farrell Williams among others, but have you seen how almost every song on the top playlists sound so similar? I am talking about melodic structure, dynamics (or lack of), the sound of the mix and the arrangement and specially the length of the song… and this is related to the beginning of the article, the ridiculously small attention span that society has at the moment is affecting the way music is being developed. Some may say that it is because the medium has changed and what use to be a common practice, like having an instrumental intro so the radio presenter could do his job using the beginning of the song as a backdrop for a mention of one of the sponsors of the show, or to introduce the band have been completely become obsolete since radio does not have the same importance it once had. But in my opinion this is only destroying the variety in the music and also it is a reflection of our society and how it has been deteriorated by the over use of technology.
Have a look at the first episode of the Sound Alchemy Podcast.
Right at the beginning
Today is January the first 2019, and wherever we like it or not time won’t stop no matter how much we try and as one of my favorite bands once said every step we take get us closer to our last… So it is up to us to do something about it.
I am gonna be brief in this Blog post since it is much more of an announcement of sorts, as you may already know we just released our second and amazing new album(which you should be listening to right now) and if you don’t know about it you just have to go to your favorite music provider service and give it a spin. After the blatant display of marketing I glad to announce that starting today this space is gonna get busier since this is the first OFFICIAL BARDON BLOG POST OF 2019 where I will share the story behind our songs, discuss the philosophy which is the base of inspiration for our music, rants about society and everything in between so stay tuned I can assure that it is going to get messy.
Also marks the beginning of new era of Bardon awesomeness because this blog is not the only thing that will emerge from our vaults, in the next few days the first episode of the SOUND ALCHEMY PODCAST will be released where we cover everything Bardon in a completely unscripted way in a super relaxed environment, expect discussions about the music and the bands that inspire us, motivational content, rants about the music industry and society, special guests and more.
The Vault will turn into our VLOG and will be related specially to the production and technical aspect of the band, we are talking about the recording process, how we develop our sound, reviews of the gear that we use and tips and tricks on how to use it. Also coverage from the road once the 2019 tour begins…
A year to remember
This is only the beginning and who know what else is also coming but we can’t wait to share all of this content with you as well as some other surprises we have been working secretly for las few months….
Don’t let anybody tell you what to dream about.
It is finally here!!!
the official and final cover art of our next album titled “Riders of the Sun”. The writing process started just a few months after the release of our debut “Sleeping Awake” during a very tumultuous and complicated time in both our personal and profesional lives which had a huge influence in the writing process as the band adopts a more darker and heavier sound but at the same time sincere and full of emotion. As time progressed the concept behind the music evolved resulting in the question: How far are you willing to go in order to get what you want?
The cover illustrates the band inner struggles and eventual rebirth, as the color selection gives the feel of abandonment and sorrow clashing with the luminous and powerful center image, one of the most important patterns in Sacred Geometry: The Tree of Life which represents the source of life.
Stay tuned for more news as the official announcement of the release date approaches!!!
Mark your calendars because it is real, August 10th is the day that will mark our lives forever, we release our next album “Riders of the Sun” that day so stay tuned for more info in the upcoming weeks!!
How far are you willing to go in order to get what you want.
